By using the free VMWare players you have a working Compiere installation within seconds.
As the package has 348 resp. 571MB, we offer it as a BitTorrent-download, one compressed with 7-Zip and one with ordinary ZIP:
Most of the time we use Azureus as BitTorrent client.
The installation is set to German language. Click on Sprache and select your desired language. Log in as user iku with password iku (all passwords are set to iku). Double-click on the Kompiere logo und wait. The login credentials for Compiere are already entered, so you only have to click on the button with the green tickmark.
The maximum memory consumption of server and client has been reduced from 512 to 256 MB. This allows to run the system on less powerful machines.
The used Ubuntu-Linux does not have a root passwort being set. Instead you have to use the sudo-command and the user password. To get a root shell, enter the command
sudo -i
and then the user password iku.
